August 9, 2009 - Monday We have had such a busy summer!! We spent one whole month together as a family at the beginning of summer, have traveled to South Padre Island (beach), Corpus Chirsti (Texas State Aquarium), San Antonio and Brownsville (Zoo). After that, Kadence went back to "school", dad started band camp & summer II courses and I have resumed my new photography business which is going very well and I'm having so much fun :) Not much more to update anyone. Its been a productive and very fun summer. Too bad school start in two weeks though. May 3, 2009 - Monday Wow! Ok. So I didn't realize how long it had been since I last updated Kadence's site. Sorry!! Between school, Kady's schedule, volunteering, and so on, I forgot all about it. Recently (Thursday late afternoon) Kady became ill with a high fever (103.2), no appetite, drowsy, etc. Jaime and I were so scarred we rushed her to the closest pediatrician that was open and then sent to a hospital that didn't care about their patients and hours of nail biting to find out what was finally wrong with Kadence. One doctor told us she had the flu! and we had to rush to the ER to get further testing done and treatments. Once there, we waited over seven hours only to be told that Kady was fine, not sick and didn't have the flu and to only give her Children's Motrin. With the Swine Flu going around, especially us being so close to the border, I wasn't satisfied with their answers and I was able to squeeze through other appointments to see Kadence's Pediatrician (whom I love!!) and she said Kady was fine and well and DID NOT have the flu. She has broncitis. Broncitis! So after a hellish night and morning, Kady didn't have the flu and all of my worrying was finally put at ease. Kady's fevers have gone away, she started eating last night and she's still on nebulizer treatments three times a day. She's had lots of rest this past weekend and finally wanted to go outside and play Sunday evening! So "Paw Paw" (Grandpa) took Kady outside to play on her slide and run around the front yard with Grandma Medina. Tomorrow is Kadence's last day at school for this semester and goes back in two weeks. Until then, she and I are gonna chill at home and go to Gymboree classes to make new friends! Thank you so much for all of your calls, prayers and well wishes. It meant a lot when I was freaking out and didn't know what to do. We love all of you! December 11, 2008 - Thursday Well today was Kady's last day of school. We were so lucky to have had a great 1st teacher - Miss Becky!! She learned so much and made friends. And I got to meet other mom's :) Photos are up of her last day of school as well as Grandma Ana's BBQ from two weeks ago.... maybe longer? Anyway, we hope everyone has a great Friday and a safe weekend! December 7, 2008 - Sunday Wow. Its been a while since I've last updated this site :) First of all, I want to wish Rick a happy birthday. I think he would have turned 50 today. So Happy Birthday :D Last time I updated this site Kady was just learning how to walk and now she's running like crazy every and any where she can and talking up a storm. Now she can say Momma and Daddy clearly and is learning her colors, numbers and animals. Its really neat to see her growing and learning. Our Thanksgiving was great until the very end. But Great Grandma Salinas is doing so much better and back in San Antonio. We'll be going to San Antonio to visit Great Grams and everyone else this Christmas :D The semester is finally coming to an end and Kady's first semester of school (day care) was successful. No biting or misbehaving, no lice or other gross parasites, and lots of learning and maturing. Let's cross our fingers for a great semester next year!! I've added more photos to Kadence's Photobucket account. I just didn't add any to the Thanksgiving album yet because everyone should have copies of that day. Have a great holiday season!! July 20, 2008 - Sunday Hello everyone :) Kady started walking yesterday!! We were visiting Grandma Ana and from one minute to the next she was cruising everywhere. She looks so cute wobbling everywhere and flailing her arms above her head! lol So I know it's been five months since I last updated Kadence's site so I'm trying to make up for lost time. Since February, Kady has learned a few words (mam - for Mom, ball, pa - as in its all gone, dada and bear). Everything is a BEAR right now. She's also babbling like crazy and knows how to throw temper tantrums which are so much fun to experience. hehehehe She can play peek-a-boo, dance, twist twist twist, give hi-5's and blow kisses (only when she wants to though). February 4, 2008 - Tuesday Happy early Valentine's Day everyone! :) This past Saturday we took Kadence to the park and for the first time she was on a swing! She loved it. I thought she was going to cry, but she didn't. She laughed and giggled and was trying to figure out her shadow on the pebbles as she swayed back and forth. LOL We video taped it and took a few pictures. We just need to upload them... not sure when that will be. Her two bottom teeth are almost completely out! And this Thursday we plan to take Kady to get some Valentine pics taken. Well that's all for now. Sorry for not updating daily, but with school and a mobile little girl, it's a bit tough. _________________________________________________________ January 21, 2008 - Monday HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I know it's a bit late... oh well. Wow, over a month since I last updated - Sorry. Since last month, Kadence has been sick. If it's not one thing, it's another. First she had a little cold, which turned into broncitis. Then when we thought she was getting better, she gets a bladder infection. We go to the Children's Hospital this Thursday to make sure the infection hasn't spread to her kidneys :( Poor baby. On the brighter side (not so much for Kady) her first bottom tooth cut on New Years Day. Her second bottom tooth just came out yesterday! She looks so cute! _______________________________________________________ December 2, 2007 - Sunday The NIGHT OF LIGHTS at Pan Am was so much fun!! Kady has her very 1st photo with Santa, got on her first ride with Aunt Krystal, saw her first fire works display (loved it!), and attened her first parade which she didn't like so much. The sirens from the fire trucks and police cars frightened her quite a bit. But after we left very early from the parade (only stayed for 3 minutes) she had a great time at the little carnival. Photos are up now :) UPDATE: The Crowning Ceremony was this afternoon at 2:30 and Kady received a few awards! She received 1st Place in the 0-6 months category for the Beauty Compeitition and was crowned and received a 1st place trophy :) In addition, Kady was named Little Sweetheart and received her ribbon for that as well. She also received two trophies for coming in as the runner up (2nd Place) in the Photogenic Competition and 4th Place in the Halloween Costume Competition. She had a wonderful time and looked so adorable wearing her tiara and ribbon :D Photos from today will be up soon. Until then, you can go to the Baby Pageant page to view her awards. December 1, 2007 - Saturday Kady is 8 months old today!! AND its only 25 Days 'Til Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! LOL Anyway, I've had this sites layout changed for about a week now with this Christmas theme... I just never published it. But now that I'm almost done, I decided to publish already. That way you can play new games and listen to radio stations throughout the world!! Have a great weekend everyone! :) November 30, 2007 - Friday Nothing new to report. Kady's doing well and still teething :( Other than that we're all great :) Tomorrow we're going to the Pharr Lighting of the Lights... I think that's what they call it. There'll be Christmas music, hot chocolate, games, etc. So we can't wait to do that. And this weekend we plan on taking Kadence to get her 1st photo taken with Santa!!!!! I get tired of our satellite Christmas selections. Hope everyone is doing great :) ____________________________________ November 22, 2007 - Thursday (Turkey Day!) This past Monday was Kady's first time in a high chair... at Luby's (Uby's House)! She looked so adorable and seemed so happy to be part of the table. Then we were off to Wal-Mart - diaper run - and we put her in the shopping cart. After lots of stares from people and obvious annoyance from Jaime from me cleaning the shopping cart, Kady seemed so happy to be able to view things from a new angle/height. Photos will be up soon. It's sooooo late (2am) and I'm off to bed. HAPPY THANKGIVING!!!! UPDATE: YAY! Thanksgiving is over, we're all over-stuffed, sleepy and getting ready for Christmas :) Photos of today are now up in the November section of the photos. I'm also going to change the layout of the pages some time tonight or tomorrow. Good night. ___________________________________ November 17, 2007 - Saturday Today Kadence was BAPTIZED!! The mass was about 2 1/2 hours long (there were so many children) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Edinburg. We're so proud of her. And she was such a good little baby... except towards the end - she had a dirty diaper, she wanted food and it was her nap time. Other than that, she was great. Kadence is teething and it looks like her two bottom teeth are about to pop up soon. Poor Kady, she's been drooling more than usual and her gums are swelled and very sensitive. It's been a challenge to soothe her. She's been very irritable and fussy. She wants to bite everything, she pulls on her hair, she's not eating too well and she's not sleeping as well either. Although, last night was the first night in weeks that she's slept through the whole night again. Another new milestone she's reached is pulling herself up to sit. Just yesterday (11-15), she grabbed the rails from her crib and sat up and then leaned her head over the rails to look at Adagio! She's growing so fast! So last night Jaime set her crib mattress to a lower setting. Which is also a good thing, cause she was starting to pull on the animals from her Rainforest Mobile while laying down.
